Self–Image
A poor self image may arise due to a variety of reasons and most often from some form of trauma. Trauma may be a particular event that a person experienced, but is can also be a way in which a person experiences daily life. For example, looking to others to experience a sense of worth is a painful and often traumatic way to move through life.

Communication
Most of us were not shown how to communicate in a manner that leads to emotional connection or intimacy and consequently we often are left feeling “missed”, “empty”, or feeling inadequate in relationship to those who we are close to.
